Fiona regularly collaborates with Italian lutenist Stefano Rocco; together they have performed well-received concerts in England, Scotland, Spain and Italy. Their programmes include
'Meraviglia d'Amore', a programme on the theme of love with songs from Italy, Spain, France and England in the 16th and 17th centuries ;
'Fairest Isle', featuring music from England, Scotland and Ireland, and including works by Dowland, Campion, Johnson and Purcell as well as traditional songs;
'The Lily and the Rose', renaissance and early baroque music from Italy and England, including music by Kapsberger, Falconieri, Dowland, Hume and others.
About Stefano......
Stefano is a much sought after performer who has appeared on concert platforms all over the world and who has an extensive discography. A founder member of the innovative Italian early music group Accordone, he regularly performs across Europe with the celebrated tenor and voice actor Marco Beasley.
Stefano studied renaissance lute at the Verona Music Conservatory and graduated in "Discipline della Musica" (Musicology) from the University of Bologna. Over the years he has performed with numerous ensembles including Accordone, Barocchisti di Lugano, Oberon, Orchestra Barocca di Bologna and Accademia degli Astrusi. He has participated in the major festivals of early music throughout Italy and also performed in Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, Mallorca, London, Utrecht, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Brussells, Berlin, Wittenberg, Potsdam, Freiburg, Regensberg, Vienna, Salzburg and Graz, as well as in New York, Cartegena, Mexico City, Montreal, Tokyo and Jerusalem. He has made broadcast recordings for ARTE, BBC, Radio della Svizzera Italiana, ORF (Radio Österreich), Deutschlandfunk, Radio Belga, ESPACE 2 (Suisse Romande) and RAI. He has recorded with Sky Classica, Alpha, Sony Classica, OPUS 111, ARCANA, EMI/Virgin, Cypres, Tactus and Bongiovanni.
